A Los Angeles native Ray has chased creativity his whole life. Painting and drawing was always a favorite activity. Coming from a family of home and boat builders he decided to pursue a career in architectural illustration that, shortly, evolved into design. He was able to combine the two and found himself designing buildings in Asia and the Middle East as well as domestically.

Ray discovered his passion for the pallet knife and acrylics while studying art in college. He likes the vibrant colors of the acrylics and the effects achievable with the knife. Merging the two, along with his love of architecture, Ray enjoys creating impressionistic interpretations of Iconic structures.

As an architectural designer and illustrator, Ray has combined his sketching talents with watercolors to present his work to clients. The Summer 2021 Ray brought several framed sketches with watercolor of Avalon to sell at the Catalina Art Festival and sold 17 out of 20 of them! Most of them sold on the first day! Because of this tremendous success, Ray has taken a turn in his art direction. Keep your eye on this web site to see "Line and Wash" paintings in the future like what you see on the Home Page. Don't worry, Ray will still paint acrylic paintings for you acrylics collectors.

His focus on architectural landscapes has lead him to his most recent works concentrating on the land marks at Avalon Bay on Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California.
