Ray's Dad and Uncle owned Harcraft boats that launched out of Redondo Beach, CA. Growing up around boats one of Ray's favorite boating destinations was Avalon on Catalina Island. Ray and his wife Debbie even honeymooned there. This was his inspiration for this series of paintings.
